Connecting using SSH
To connect to your server with ssh you need to firstly go in the admin panel of your host, under settings you will find a setting about ssh access. Make sure that is set to 'on', if you can not se the settings check your access rights. Partners are the only developers certified for SSH access. Changing the domains DNS A-record is mostly done from the admin panel where you bought your domain. DNS A-record maps a domain name to the IP address of the server hosting the domain. Adding a cron job is made super easy in our admin panel. Navigate to the host -> site you want to add a cronjob to, and then the CRON tab. Modifying files with FileZilla
There are two ways to modify a file on the server using FileZilla. You can of course alter it locally, and then transfer it to the server again. FileZilla will promp a window asking if you want to overwrite the file, or skip the file. Choose overwrite and it will overwrite the old file with the new one. Resetting SFTP/SSH password
From the host dashboard, navigate to the site you want to reset the SFTP password at. You click "Reset SFTP password" in the top right corner of the server login information. From here you can either choose your own password or generate a new random password. The SFTP password is also used as the password when logging into the host using SSH.

It is possible to connect directly to a database on Servebolt from a remote server or your local computer, if if you run the traffic through an SSH tunnel. Why does SFTP(FTP) fail to connect
If your FTP program is not connecting properly, here are some possible reasons: Make sure you're using SFTP (Secure FTP), and not the old and unsecure FTP. Make sure you use port 1022, many SFTP programs use port 22 as default. Make sure your username and password are the same as your host emails username and password (unless you have changed your password). How do backups work at Servebolt?
All hosts on Servebolt run full nightly backups, off-site to a datacenter within EU/EEA. Backups can be restored upon request as far as 30 days back. Contact our support team to get a backup restored. We store one backup per day the last 14 days, then 2 weekly snapshots. Why only 30 days? We decided to limit how old backups we restore to help our customers be GDPR compliant.
